growing to give & giving to grow
guiding principles...
Our farm family has had an incredible journey transforming this overgrown 7-acre plot of land into a thriving garden surrounded by a beautiful little barn with animals, farmhouse and studio. We are honored by the community’s interest in our little slice of heaven. We often get asked if we are open to having events on the farm. We are always open to ideas so long as they are consistent with our guiding principles of being directed to supporting a charitable cause. As many of our friends know, the primary charity we support is the Atlanta Community Food Bank and its local representative, North Fulton Community Charities. However, we are also open to other charities. Some examples of ways to marry community interests with charities are shown below.
some examples and ideas...
Farm Tours: Farm Tours are once a month on Saturday afternoons, 12:15pm-1pm. Tickets are a $5 donation that will be given directly to the Atlanta Community Food Bank on behalf of Martin’s Garden. You can follow the link attached to purchase tickets. https://www.martinsgardenacf.com/tickets/farm-tour
Cooking Classes in our Farm House Kitchen: We would welcome our talented community of local chefs to lead a small class (can probably accommodate 10 maximum) if they are willing to donate their time and/or direct student’s class participation fees to a particular charity. Of course, we’re happy to donate fruits or veggies from our garden when available!
Chef Inspired Dinner Parties on the Farm: Similar to the Cooking Classes above, we would welcome our talented community of local chefs to prepare a dinner on the farm experience if they are willing to donate their time and/or direct student’s class participation fees to a particular charity. And again, we’re happy to donate fruits or veggies from our garden when available!
Fit on the Farm: We’re interested in supporting health living lifestyles and are hoping to have a fitness-based event or two on the farm in which instructors might be willing to lead a one-time special event yoga, pilates, barre or other class with some or all of the proceeds being directed towards a charity. We have a small music studio with an open floor layout that can support small indoor events (x max) and outdoor lawn and pavilion space that also can be used.
Interested in Events?
If you are interested in pursuing any of the above ideas or have other unique ideas you’d like to share, please submit a fairly detailed description of your idea, making sure to include how specifically it would help a charity, to martinsgardenacf@gmail.com with “CHARITY EVENT IDEA” in the title. We look forward to working with you as we Grow to Give & Give to Grow!
